Powell, Waychoff to perform Jan. 28
Guest artists Benjamin Powell and Brianne Waychoff give a double-bill performance Friday, Jan. 28, in the Kleinau Theatre in the Communications Building.
Both performances, which are free and open to the public, deal with mature themes.
Waychoff’s performance, “Leftovers,” uses remnants from a variety of mediums and sources to reveal gleaning as not only an area of study and inquiry, but also as a fruitful metaphor for conceiving and composing performance genealogies. Powell’s performance, “Station to Station,” also uses fragmentary sources to assemble histories and geographies, proposing that cartography is not only a method of mapping our world but also a way of living in it.
