Immigration/employment seminar is Nov. 17
Attorney Nancy M. Vizer will provide essential immigration information for faculty, staff, and students during a seminar at 9:30 a.m., Nov. 17, in the SIU School of Law’s Hiram H. Lesar Building courtroom.
Seminar topics will include tips for maintaining immigration status, how to remain in the United States after graduating, and receiving Optional Practical Training (OPT) and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) extensions. Other topics will include employment options within academia and industry; H-1B and other types of temporary immigration status; permanent residency through employment or marriage, and immigration traps to avoid.
