Media Advisory – Career Fairs
Reporters, photographers and news crews are welcome to attend two upcoming career fairs at Southern Illinois University Carbondale’s SIU Arena.
The university’s Career Services is hosting the fall 2016 University Career Fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 26. Nearly 60 organizations, including representatives from Aisin Manufacturing Illinois, LLC., Jasper Engines and Transmissions, Carbondale Police Department, Caterpillar Inc., CommutAir, Decatur Public Schools, Liaison Technologies, Missouri State Highway Patrol, and Walgreens will participate. The companies will be looking for both interns and full-time employees from students in all majors.
Career Services will also host at STEM Career Fair on Tuesday, Oct. 4. The event, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., will have approximately 40 companies looking for SIU students who are majoring in SIU Carbondale’s science, technology, engineering and math disciplines. Many of these companies will also be interviewing in the following weeks at Career Services, located in the Student Services Building, Room 179.

These events give the university an opportunity to showcase students and the campus to more than 150 company representatives, many of whom are alumni returning to SIU Carbondale to recruit.
