‘Working with Military Veterans’ set for March 28

CARBONDALE, Ill. – Southern Illinois University Carbondale will host a workshop that will help people gain a better understanding of the transition that veterans face in making the transition to civilian life. 

The workshop, “Working with Military Veterans,” is from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m., March 28, in Quigley Hall, Room 140B. The workshop will help people who work with veterans better understand military culture and the unique contributions and challenges of veterans in transitioning to civilian life. Adjustment Disorder and Anxiety and traumatic brain injuries will be discussed. 

Presenters include Paul S. Copeland, the university’s veterans’ services coordinator; Brenda Carter, with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs; and Janet Clark, who is with the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Marion.
