Additional plastic bottles/containers can be recycled
The Sustainability Office is announcing that “Plastics 1-6” bottles and containers may be deposited in mixed recycling bins around campus. In addition to accepting metals, glass, and plastic bottles and containers with recycling symbols 1 and 2 on them, plastics with recycling symbols 3 through 6 are now permitted.
Numerical recycling symbols are found at the bottom of most plastic containers – the symbol is a number that ranges from 1 to 7, inside a three-arrow triangle. If there are any questions, the Sustainability Office is on the first floor at the south end of the Student Center.
