Carver to serve as interim CIE director

Andrew Carver, professor of conservation planning and sustainable development and director of engagement for the College of Agricultural Sciences, will serve as interim director of the Center for International Education beginning Jan. 1.

Carver replaces Carla Coppi, who is retiring Dec. 31 after many years of service to the university. Coppi had worked in a variety of positions within the office since 1983, becoming interim director in 2006 and later, the director.

Carver will fulfill the role of director at least until Feb. 28 or until such time as a national search for a permanent director is completed. Carver leads a teaching and research program in international natural resource conservation and international development for the College of Agricultural Sciences.
