Open forums for Extended Campus finalists set
Two candidates for executive director of the university’s Extended Campus will meet with constituents during open forums next week.
The candidates, in alphabetical order, are:
Marwin Britto, professor and project librarian at the University of Saskatchewan, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada.
Mandara D. Savage, interim director of the university’s Extended Campus program, and associate professor and chair in SIU Carbondale’s Department of Technology.
The university’s Extended Campus provides online and off-campus academic programs.
The candidates will discuss “Distance Education in an Competitive Environment: How to Grow DE Programs with a Tight Budget” during their public presentations.
Britto will be on campus Dec. 10-11. His public forum is at 1 p.m., Dec. 10, in Morris Library, rooms 752 and 754.
Savage will be on campus Dec. 7-8. His public forum is at 1 p.m., Dec. 7, in Morris Library, rooms 752 and 754.
The forums, which will include a presentation by the candidates, will give university students, staff and faculty an opportunity to meet with the candidates and ask questions about their proposed approaches to the position and is in conjunction with their interviews.
