Jorge Galan to present Ogur Memorial Lecture

Jorge E. Galan, professor of cell biology and chair of the Department of Microbial Pathogenesis at Yale University, will present the Maurice Ogur Memorial Lecture next week.

Galan, the Lucille P. Markey Professor of Microbial Pathogenesis, will present, “Infectious Diseases: a Continuous Challenge,” at 3 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 22, in the French Auditorium in Lindegren Hall. The lecture is free and open to the public; refreshments will be served after the lecture.

Galan is a member of the National Academy of the Sciences and received the Robert Koch Prize in 2011. His research concerns the pathogenesis of two intestinal pathogens, Salmonella and Campylobacter.
