Media Advisory – Automotive Instructors Conference
More than 200 high school and community college automotive instructors from throughout the Midwest and as far as Ohio and Colorado will be at Southern Illinois University Carbondale this week to learn about improvements in automotive technology.
The Illinois College Automotive Instructors Association Conference is Thursday and Friday, Oct. 8-9, at the Transportation Education Center, 545 N. Airport Road, Murphysboro, adjacent to Southern Illinois Airport. The conference provides instructors updated information on automotive technology along with improved teaching practices to assist educators in the science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) fields. The two-day event will also feature 20 to 30 representatives from various fields in the automotive industry and include a variety of technical training sessions for instructors.
Reporters, photographers and news crews are welcome to attend. A suggested time for interviews with SIU Carbondale automotive technology staff and participants is between 8 and 10 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 8.
