State employee contribution drive underway

University employees will have the opportunity again this year to contribute to the State Employees Care A Lot (SECA) charity of their choice. 

The campaign started Sept. 23 and runs through Nov.18.  There are nearly 2,000 SECA Qualified Charitable Organizations to consider making pledges to. This year marks the campaign’s 32st anniversary -- in efforts to meet social service needs statewide.  In 2014, state and university employees contributed $2.4 million, according to the Illinois Department of Central Management Services. 

Since 1983, state employees have donated more than $73 million to SECA.
