Media Advisory – Debate Analysis

Presidential candidate debates are complex events, the subtleties of which sometimes require expert interpretation. Todd Graham, director of the highly successful debate program at Southern Illinois University Carbondale, is available for commentary on debates throughout the campaign season, including after the Republican presidential debates on Wednesday, Sept. 16.

Graham has 20 years of experience analyzing presidential debates, including as debate expert for CNN.com during the 2012 presidential election cycle. He contributed more than 20 pieces to national news outlets during the primary and general election debates.

Graham’s debate expertise has led the SIU debate team to multiple national championships, including earning a national championship title for the past three years. He has had teams in the final four of a national championship tournament for eight consecutive years, and has twice been recognized by national collegiate debate organizations as “Coach of the Year.”
