Dependent Eligibility Verification Audit to begin

The Illinois Department of Central Management Services (CMS) is in the process of a Dependent Eligibility Verification Audit. The intent of the audit is to ensure that only eligible dependents are covered under the State Employees Group Insurance Program (SEGIP).

Each member who has a dependent enrolled in the program will receive a First Notice Letter and FAQ document.  CMS hired HMS Employer Solutions, an independent firm, to conduct the audit. Beginning next week, HMS will mail a letter to each SEGIP member who has a dependent enrolled detailing the steps and documentation required to keep dependents from having their coverage terminated.
