Safe Zone training workshops scheduled

Faculty, staff and students are invited to participate in Safe Zone training workshops during the Weeks of Welcome, Aug. 24 through Sept. 3.

The training is part of an effort by the Center for Inclusive Excellence to increase the appreciation of diversity and to provide skills needed for people to interact effectively across different identities. The sessions also educate the campus community about LGBTQ issues.

The sessions are 10 a.m. to noon, and 1 to 3 p.m., Monday-Friday, Aug. 24-28, and Monday-Thursday, Aug. 31-Sept. 3. Each session will be in Student Center Activity Room A. Only one two-hour session is needed for training.

Training facilitators come from the Center for Inclusive Excellence, Student Health Services, University Housing and Veterans Services.
