Museum to unveil new exhibits

Four new exhibits at University Museum will official open with a public reception from 4 to 7 p.m., Friday, June 26.

The new exhibits are:

  • ·      “Carol Good: Light and Dark: Impressions in Watercolor and Glass.” Good is a native of Carbondale. The exhibit runs through Sept. 4.
  • ·      Steve Mueller, “Gelman’s Railroad Photographs,” a collection of photographs by the late journalist and photographer Ben Gelman. The exhibit runs through Oct. 2.
  • ·      “Conservation of a Painting.” Features the unveiling of University Museum’s restored “USS Switzerland.” The exhibit runs through Oct. 24.
  • ·      “A Flatboat Excavation.” Mark Wagner, associate scientist with the Center for Archeological Investigations, presents work on excavating an 1800-era flatboat in the Ohio River near Olmstead. The exhibit runs through Oct. 24.
