Two chancellor finalists to meet with SIU trustees

CARBONDALE, Ill. -- Two finalists for the position of chancellor of Southern Illinois University Carbondale will meet with members of the university’s Board of Trustees on June 3 in the Stone Center on campus.

Susan M. Ford, acting provost and vice chancellor for academic affairs at SIU, and Sabah U. Randhawa, executive vice president and provost at Oregon State University, will each meet with trustees for about two hours, said SIU President Randy Dunn.

“Trustees asked to have the opportunity to meet with final candidates as a last step in the search process,” Dunn said.

Ford and Randhawa were among four finalists who spent several days on campus interviewing for the position. The other two finalists were Pam Benoit, executive vice president and provost at Ohio University, who recently withdrew from the search indicating that she plans to remain at her current institution, and Lawrence Schovanec, provost and senior vice president at Texas Tech University.

Information on the two candidates is online at chancellor.siu.edu/search.
