Education conference deadline is March 11
CARBONDALE, Ill. -- Educators from around the region will be participating in the 18th annual Southern Illinois Education Conference at Southern Illinois University Carbondale on March 25.
The conference runs from 8:15 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Student Center. It features a variety of presentations and guest speakers focusing on topics of interest to educators and administrators at the K-12 and postsecondary levels as well as to university education students.
Randy Dunn, president of SIU, will present the keynote address during the luncheon. There will be breakout sessions focusing on fostering development in student leaders, bullying and appropriate responses, sexual assault policy, crisis management and much more. Legal issues, student success, community and institution partnerships, technology and education, and local, state and federal funding are among the workshop topics.
The registration deadline is March 11. The cost is $80 for professionals, $50 for full-time SIU students or $25 for Educational Administration and Higher Education students.
