UWPA Mentorship Award nominations due
University Women’s Professional Advancement (UWPA) is seeking nominations for the 2015 UWPA Mentorship Awards. The awards recognize campus individuals who have demonstrated a sustained, campus-wide commitment to the advancement of women. The nomination deadline is Jan. 28. Those receiving the award will be honored at the Celebrate Women’s Scholarship Luncheon at the Student Center on March 2.
Award recipients are individuals who have specifically provided professional development support for junior faculty, A/P, Civil Service staff and SIU students as a significant part of their service to the university community.
The organization is particularly interested in recognizing individuals who, through their actions and leadership, have firmly supported female colleagues and the campus-wide cultivation of inclusive excellence by providing opportunities, training and/or encouragement to women in instances outside what was required by the job.
Any individual employed for at least three years at SIU Carbondale is eligible award consideration. Eligibility and nomination details are available here. Completed nomination packets should be sent to Carol Jackson at cjackson@siu.edu.
