Ciciora earns student employee honors
CARBONDALE, Ill. -- Aimee Ciciora of Downers Grove is the Student Employee of the Month for October from Southern Illinois University Carbondale’s Recreational Sports and Services.
Ciciora, the daughter of Bob and Tammi Ciciora, is a senior majoring in accounting. She has worked at the Student Recreation Center for three years and is a facility supervisor. She anticipates graduating in May 2015 and then starting the master of accountancy program next fall. After obtaining some experience in the field, she plans to return to work for her family business, the Pizza Via.
Ciciora earned praise from patrons and co-workers for her positive attitude and hard work. Supervisors say she is passionate about her job. She covers extra shifts, trains new workers and handles other duties that require quick decisions, according to supervisors.
“Aimee goes above and beyond what is expected of a student supervisor,” Amber Bratsch, Recreational Sports and Services’ assistant director for operations and facilities, said. “She provides feedback to her supervisors about daily operations and she always takes the initiative to get her job done. She is a mentor to her peers as well as to new employees.”
The monthly award recognizes outstanding effort and service by student employees.
