Convenient care clinic open for employees
The Student Health Center has a convenient care clinic for employees who are feeling under the weather and cannot visit their regular health care provider. The clinic is on the first floor across from the pharmacy.
Health center medical providers are available to see patients for minor illnesses including colds, flu, rashes, earaches, minor trauma and other acute problems. Treatment also includes access to physical therapy, lab work and the X-ray department. Faculty and staff pay their usual medical insurance copayment at the time of service, and the clinic will bill insurance companies for the remaining cost.
Prescriptions can be filled at the health center’s pharmacy, although university-related insurance plans are not accepted at this time. For convenience, however, many patients choose to pay cash or use credit or debit cards for the economical generic prescriptions. Clinic staff can also call in prescriptions to other pharmacies.
Call 453-3704 between 8 a.m. and 3:45 p.m., Monday through Friday, to schedule a same-day appointment. Employees should have their Dawg Tag number available when calling.
