Media advisory – Carbon emission reductions
The director of the Coal Research Center at Southern Illinois University Carbondale will be available on Monday, June 2, to discuss the potential impact of new U.S. Environmental Protection Agency regulations cutting carbon emissions from the nation’s coal-fired power plants.
Reports indicate President Obama will use his executive authority to announce the plans as early as Monday, with a possibility of cutting carbon emissions by up to 20 percent. The rules are expected to have a major impact on such existing plants as well as those built in the future.
The director, Tomasz Wiltowski, is available at 618/536-5521 or by email at email@example.com.
