Castle earns college union association honor

Donald Castle, associate director of the Student Center, is a 2014 recipient of the Emeritus Award from the Association of College Unions International (ACUI). 

Castle, an SIU employee since 1987, was honored at the organization’s annual conference in Orlando recently.  The award recognizes retiring college union and student activities professionals who have dedicated at least a decade of service to the field.  Castle will be retiring later this year. 

“I have been involved with ACUI for more than 30 years.  It is my professional home.  I have had great experiences, made great friends, learned from the best in my field and have memories to last a lifetime,” Castle said. 

ACUI, celebrating its 100th birthday in 2014, is a non-profit educational organization whose membership includes college union and student activities professionals from hundreds of schools in seven countries.
