Naverson to design set for ‘Off-Off-Broadway’ play

Ronald Naversen, professor of scenic design in the Department of Theater, will be designing scenery for the Off-Off-Broadway production, “An Appeal to the Woman of the House.”

The original play by Christie Perfetti Williams, opens May 3 and runs through May 17 at the WorkShop Theater Company, 312 W. 36th St., 4th Floor East, between 8th and 9th Avenues, New York, N.Y.

The fictional play is set on a fateful night in May 1961 in the farmhouse of a southern family on the Alabama-Tennessee border when four young Freedom Riders knock on their door seeking shelter during the turbulent Civil Rights marches of the 1960s.
