Distinguished Alumni will be honored Friday
Four prominent graduates will be honored as 2014 SIU Distinguished Alumni Award recipients on Friday, April 25. The public ceremony and reception will take place at 3:30 p.m. at the John C. Guyon Auditorium in Morris Library.
The awards from the SIU Alumni Association honor career achievement, cultural impact, humanitarian efforts, and young alumni achievement. Individuals were selected for the honor they bring to the university through outstanding accomplishments within each award category.
The 2014 SIU Distinguished Alumni Award recipients, with their major and year graduated are:
Award for Career Achievement: Nick Calamos, economics, 1983.
Award for Humanitarian Efforts: James Gildersleeve, speech communications, 1972.
Award for Cultural Impact: Preston Jackson, art, 1969.
Young Alumni Achievement: Joshua Kauffman, speech communications, 2006.
