Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies Conference is Friday
A conference to bring together faculty and students from across campus is Friday, March 21, in the Student Center.
The second “Women, Gender and Sexuality Studies Conference” will look to open up opportunities for collaboration and dialogue about women, gender and sexuality across the arts, sciences, humanities and education. The conference, “Joining Voices, Engendering Dialogue: A Cross-Disciplinary Conference,” is free and the public is welcome to attend. The conference is in the Student Center’s Vermillion, Wabash and Saline rooms.
The event begins at 9 a.m. with sessions beginning at 9:30 a.m. A reception with opening remarks from Kimberly Leonard, dean of the College of Liberal Arts, is from 5 to 6:30 p.m. and precedes faculty and student awards.
University Women’s Professional Advancement, the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual Trans*, Queer (LGBTQ) Center, and Higher Education and Black Graduate Student associations are conference sponsors. For more information call 618/453-5141 or visit the website.
