Conference on correctional policies is next month
A conference on new directions in corrections’ policies is April 10 in Morris Library’s John C. Guyon Auditorium.
“Advancements in Correctional Practices: Supervision, Interventions and Re-entry,” will feature guest speakers and focus on evidence-based practices: probation, re-entry success, policies on young offenders and managing offenders with mental illness in institutions and the community.
The conference is from 1 to 4:30 p.m. The event is free and the public is welcome to attend. There will be an opportunity for questions and discussion of practical strategies. Registration is requested for non-SIU Carbondale-affiliated participants. For more information or to register, contact Daryl Kroner, associate professor in the Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice, at 618/453-2568 or by email.
