McLeod Summer Playhouse auditions set
CARBONDALE, Ill. -- The McLeod Summer Playhouse at Southern Illinois University Carbondale will hold local auditions and technical staff interviews for its 2014 season on Feb. 8, in Altgeld Hall, room 116.
The 2014 season includes “Oklahoma!” (June 20-22, June 27-29), “Monty Python’s Spamalot” (July 11-13, July 18-20) and “Charlotte’s Web” (various matinee dates June 7-July 16). The Playhouse will announce audition dates for the Carbondale Community Arts’ All Southern High School Theater Project production in a separate announcement.
Audition registration is at 9 a.m.
Dance auditions are at 10 a.m. All auditioning actors must attend the dance audition. Actors should wear dance clothes; they may change before individual auditions. Individual auditions begin at 11 a.m. Callbacks begin at 1 p.m.
Actors have 90 seconds to sing a musical theater selection. The selection may be but is not required to be from this season’s musicals. An accompanist will be provided, although actors may not use CD accompaniment. Actors should bring sheet music with the start, finish, and cuts clearly marked.
Actors will also perform a comic monologue.
