“Grad Bash ‘14” planned for graduating seniors
Faculty and staff are encouraged to remind graduating seniors of the upcoming “Grad Bash ’14,” which is Feb. 5. The event is from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Student Center ballrooms.
The SIU Alumni Association, along with the Student Center and University Bookstore, is setting up a one-stop-shop for seniors who will graduate in May.
The event will give students the opportunity to apply for graduation, order transcripts, and get financial aid questions answered by representatives of various university departments. Students will also be able to order caps, gowns and graduation invitations from University Bookstore, as well as enjoy some free food.
Representatives from Career Services, the Graduate School, School of Law, and the MBA program will be on hand to help students in their job hunt or post-graduate degree. Student can also visit the Alumni Association table to sign up for memberships and enjoy dozens of exclusive benefits.
The event also features local Top 40s cover band, “Hashtag Pop,” sponsored by Balfour, which will also have a representative on hand for students to get fitted for and buy official SIU class ring.
University Bookstore is also giving away $1,000 worth of gift cards, with winners being drawn each hour. Each person who attends will also receive a complimentary tote bag, courtesy of the SIU Alumni Association.
