Winter walkers’ passes available
There are several on-campus resources available to help with those New Year’s resolutions. Some of the goals are to lose weight, eat healthier and exercise, and a “walkers pass” offered to SIU employees and retirees through Recreational Sports and Services is a way to start.
Shorter days, cooler temperatures and the possibility of snow on the ground can make it difficult to try and get in a daily walk during the first few months of the year.
The Student Recreation Center through the WellSIU Chancellor’s Employee Wellness Initiative is offering a “walkers pass” for only $10. The pass is valid through Feb. 28 and allows you to walk on the upper or lower tracks from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday. Passes are available at the Member Services Center on the upper level of the Student Recreation Center.
