Memorial service set for Emeritus Law Professor Robert Beck
A memorial service for Robert E. Beck, emeritus professor of law at the SIU School of Law, will be at 2 p.m., Jan. 17, in the Hiram H. Lesar Law Building Auditorium.
Beck, 76, died Dec. 6 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. He joined the law school faculty in 1976 and retired in August 2002, although he continued to teach one course per academic year at SIU.
Over the course of his career Beck earned a national reputation as a leading scholar in the field of natural resources law. Prior to coming to SIU he was an assistant professor and professor at the University of North Dakota School of Law.
