Jazz guitar performance Nov. 12 at Quigley Hall
Even though they were born on different sides of the world, Isaac Lausell, a lecturer in the School of Music and Zvonimir Tot, a faculty member in the University of Illinois at Chicago’s Department of Theatre and Music, each have the love for jazz guitar in common.
Lausell and Tot will perform for the first time as a duo at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 12, in Quigley Hall. Admission is $12 and free for School of Music students.
The performance will include a rhythm section featuring SIU Jazz faculty musicians Philip Brown on bass and Ron Coulter on drums. The event is part of an exchange between the guitar programs at SIU Carbondale and the University of Illinois at Chicago. Tot is a seasoned recording artist that has toured around the world and played with world- renowned musicians including Joey DeFrancesco, Howard Levy, Billy Harper and Jamey Aebersold.
A master class will take place at 10 a.m. Nov. 12 at the Old Baptist Foundation.
