School of Music to present Halloween Pops
CARBONDALE, Ill. -- Say goodbye to the scary street and hello to the spooky pop beat as the Southern Illinois University Carbondale School of Music presents its annual Halloween Pops concert at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 31, in Shryock Auditorium.
The concert features a variety of ensembles and artists, and is a fun and safe way to celebrate Halloween. Come as your favorite character: a cowboy, a zombie, a superhero, a princess -- all audience members are encouraged to wear costumes and be as creative with them as they can be. Those most inventive may compete for prizes for the Best Adult and Best Children’s costumes. And the musicians also did not forget one of the best things about Halloween -- the School of Music has a treat bag for all children at the end of the performance.
Tickets are $15 for adults and $6 for students and children. Get tickets in advance by phone at 618/453-6000, online at SouthernTicketsOnline.com or, in person at the McLeod Theater and SIU Arena box offices. Office hours are weekdays, noon to 5 p.m. Tickets are also available at Shryock Auditorium one hour before start of performance only.
