State employee contribution drive underway

by Pete Rosenbery

There is still time to make a contribution to the State Employees Care a Lot (SECA) charity of your choice.

The current campaign, which began Sept. 6, is scheduled to end Nov. 1. Pledge forms to contribute to nearly 2,000 SECA Qualified Charitable Organizations will be available until Nov. 1.

This year marks the campaign’s 30th anniversary -- in efforts to meet social service needs statewide.  In 2012, state and university employees donated more than $2.4 million, according to the Illinois Department of Central Management Services.

Since 1983, state employees have donated more than $67 million to SECA.

More information, and a list of charities at the local, state, national and international level are available at secaillinois.org/.  A pledge form is available on the Fliers Row page at today.siu.edu/fliersrow.php.

If you have any questions please contact Holly Rick, SECA ambassador, at 618/453-6689.
