‘Bowling for Autism Family Night’ is April 26
CARBONDALE, Ill. -- Bowling for Autism Family Night is set for Friday, April 26, at Southern Illinois University Carbondale.
The free event is from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Student Center Bowling and Billiards. The Center for Autism Spectrum Disorders in the College of Education and Human Services is teaming with Non-Traditional Student Services to host the activity. The event will also feature a variety of stations with activities and games including face painting and balloon art.
Everyone is welcome to attend. Light snacks will be available at the family friendly bowling night.
According to organizers, the purpose of the event is to recognize April as Autism Awareness Month, and bring greater understanding of autism spectrum disorders.
Event sponsors also include the National Black Association for Speech Language and Hearing Association, National Student Speech Language and Hearing Association, and the Association of Non-Traditional Student Services.
