Forum will examine student finances

by Tiana Russell

CARBONDALE, Ill. -- Student finance is the focus of a forum this week at Southern Illinois University Carbondale.

“Deficits, Education & Funding: Student Voices on Money Matters,” is the topic for a speakers’ forum at 7 p.m., Thursday, April 18, at the SIU School of Law Hiram H. Lesar Law Building.  The forum will be in the law school’s auditorium.

Admission is free, and the public is encouraged to attend.  The University’s Department of Speech Communication and the Society for Civil Discourse sponsor the event.

The forum will allow students to share their opinions and concerns on the issue.  The forum will open with a panel that features student speakers Evette Rudolph, Leslie Murray, Jess Michels, and Noah Coleman.  The event will then open to any audience members who want to share their opinions.  Refreshments will be available after the discussions.
