Billiards tourney, trick pool events Feb. 19-20

CARBONDALE, Ill. -- Southern Illinois University Carbondale will host a trick pool show and billiards tournament next week.

The Southern Illinois University Women’s and Men’s Pool Tournament kicks off at 5 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 19, at Bowling and Billiards, located in the Student Center.  The registration fee is $5 per person, and the registration deadline is 2 p.m., Monday, Feb. 18.  First-place winners will receive a professional cue stick.

The Gospel Trick Show is at 7 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 20, in Student Center Ballroom D.  Admission is free and everyone is welcome.

The show will feature the trick shot talents of Tom Rossman (aka Dr. Cue) and Mike Massey, both multiple winners of ESPN TV trick shot championships, along with other national and international competitions, and Steve Lillis, president and founder of GTS Ministries.  Those attending will get a chance to see the “magic” shots that have gained worldwide attention and awards.

Rossman, Massey and Lillis, along with Bill Null, manager of Bowling and Billiards, will also be officiating the pool tournament.
