Advanced grant-writing session set for Feb. 26-27

CARBONDALE, Ill. -- Southern Illinois University Carbondale’s Continuing Education and Outreach is presenting an Advanced Grant Development and Administration workshop in February to provide people with valuable information about developing and writing grants to secure funding for research or programs.

The course will meet on campus in Room 141 of Lawson Hall on Feb. 26 and 27.  Each session will run from 6-9 p.m.  The deadline to register is Feb. 18.

The workshop will feature information about developing grants that directly impact an institution’s long range and strategic planning efforts.  The course will focus on techniques for grant development and methods of researching current grant opportunities.  The instructor for this course is Bob Ross.  Ross has more 25 years experience in grant writing.  He wrote grants for Rend Lake College for 17 years, during which time he brought in approximately $19 million in new grant money. He also worked as a grant writer at Shawnee College for eight years, bringing in about $8 million in grant funds.

The workshop registration fee is $50.
