by Kristen George

CARBONDALE, Ill. -- Southern Illinois University Carbondale’s Continuing Education and Outreach is offering two early 2013 sessions of its popular ACT Prep Course to prepare high school students for the standardized ACT test.

The first session of the class is set for Jan. 19, 20, 26 and 26 and Feb. 2 and 3.  The second session meets March 16, 17, 23, 24 and April 6 and 7.  Both sessions meet from noon to 4:15 p.m.

The six-day intensive review prepares participants for the ACT test by providing them with test-taking tips and strategies.  The class also includes a full-length practice exam and everything takes place in a small classroom setting.

The $300 registration fee covers the class instruction along with materials including “The Real ACT Prep Guide:  The Only Official Prep Guide from the Makers of the ACT,” a study guide that an experienced ACT instructor developed and practice exams.

The registration deadline for the first session is 4 p.m., Jan. 10 while the deadline to sign up for the second session is 4 p.m., March 7.  There is no on-site registration for the ACT Prep Course.
