Civil Service council dinner, silent auction is Dec. 8
CARBONDALE, Ill. -- The Southern Illinois University Carbondale Civil Service Council is hosting a spaghetti dinner and silent auction on Dec. 8.
Proceeds from the event will go to the Civil Service Education Assistance Program. The program provides monetary awards to any SIU Carbondale student whose sponsor is a civil service employee at the University.
The event is from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Newman Center, 715 S. Washington, St., Carbondale. Tickets are $10 for adults, and $8 for students and children under 10 years old.
Among the items in the silent auction is a 50-inch flat screen television valued at more than $900.
