Patent attorney to discuss ‘intellectual property’

CARBONDALE, Ill. -- “Patents, Innovation and the America Invents Act” is a free presentation coming to Southern Illinois University Carbondale on Sept. 21.

Ari M. Bai, a patent attorney for the Polsinelli Shughart Law Firm and a former patent examiner for the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office in Washington, D.C., will be the guest speaker.

The event will take place at the Dunn-Richmond Economic Development Center, 1740 Innovation Drive in Carbondale.  The session begins with lunch at 11:30 a.m.  Bai’s presentation will be from noon to 1:30 p.m. 

There is no cost for the session and lunch is included.  However, seating is limited so organizers suggest pre-registration by Thursday, Sept. 20.   To register, call 618/453-6754 or email lindberg@siu.edu.
