Saluki Baseball Prospect Camp set for Aug. 6

CARBONDALE, Ill. -- Southern Illinois University Carbondale’s Saluki Baseball Prospect Camp offers area baseball players the opportunity to showcase their skills.

This camp will be on Aug. 6 at SIU Carbondale’s Abe Martin Field and is open only to high school students.

The focus of Saluki Baseball Prospect Camp is players in the high school graduating classes of 2013, 2014 or 2015 who are looking to show off their skills to area college coaches.  The camp kicks off at 9 a.m. with skill instruction and player evaluations throughout the morning. In the afternoon players will get to compete in games and tour the SIU Carbondale campus.

Saluki baseball coaching staff members Ken Henderson, P.J. Finigan, and Ryan Strain will direct the camp instruction.  The staff will also include current Saluki baseball players and other area college coaches.

The camp registration fee is $100.  The registration deadline is July 27 with an enrollment limit of 80 players, so organizers suggest early registration.

To sign up, contact The Division of Continuing Education at 618/536-7751 or visit their website at https://www.dce.siu.edu/.  For more specific information about the camp, contact the SIU Carbondale baseball staff at 618/453-2802.
