Camp offers chance to improve baseball skills
CARBONDALE, Ill. -- Do you love the game of baseball and want to improve your skills?
Southern Illinois University Carbondale’s Division of Continuing Education is offering you the chance at the 2012 Saluki Baseball Camp.
Set for June 11-14, the camp is open to all players between the ages of seven and 13. Check-in for Saluki Baseball Camp will be Monday, June 11, at 7:30 a.m. with camp starting daily at 9 a.m. Checkout will be 3 p.m. daily. The camp will be at Abe Martin Field on the SIU Carbondale campus.
With groupings according to age, campers will receive more individual instruction. All campers will have access to all SIU Carbondale baseball facilities and receive one-on-one attention from coaches. The Saluki Baseball Camp instruction includes hitting, bunting, base running, infield and outfield play, pitching and specific position work. The camp’s goal is helping participants improve skills while gaining confidence. Many former campers have experienced success at the high school level and even gone on to play college and professional baseball.
The registration fee is $185. Special rates apply for those registering in groups of six or more.
