Student Center to host Mother’s Day brunch

CARBONDALE, Ill. -- Southern Illinois University Carbondale’s Mother’s Day Brunch 2012 is set for 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday, May 13, at the Student Center Ballrooms.  Everyone is welcome to attend.

The menu features a wide assortment of culinary treats beginning with black-eyed pea and sweet corn salad, marinated farm house salad and baby spinach and mixed greens with blue cheese, bacon, walnuts and cider or raspberry vinaigrette.  Entrees include carved roast baron of beef with horseradish sauce, chicken with apple honey fruit relish and cheesy scrambled eggs.  Also on the menu are biscuits and milk gravy, butter whipped potatoes, lemon glazed carrots, steamed broccoli, fresh fruit, and assorted pastries, cakes and sweets.

Purchased in advance, tickets are $13 for University students and senior adults, $14 for the general public and $6.75 for children ages seven and younger.  You may purchase tickets at the Student Center Business Office between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday or by telephone by calling 618/453-3478.

You may also purchase tickets at the door the day of the brunch but prices are $1 higher.
