Open house will highlight WED opportunities

by Christi Mathis

CARBONDALE, Ill. -- An open house on April 25 will highlight Southern Illinois University Carbondale’s Workforce Education and Development program and provide information about how people can advance their careers by completing an undergraduate or graduate degree.

The open house for the College of Education and Human Services’ program will be from 4:45 to 5:30 p.m. in Pulliam Hall, Room 204C.  All students, University employees and community members are welcome.

There will be presentations focusing on both the undergraduate and graduate degree programs.  Those attending the free program will learn how the WED program fits into already demanding schedules with options for accelerated learning and for a program combining online and classroom work.  The presentations will also explain how work experience and professional training can help you earn college credit and how to make your knowledge and experience count.

There will be light refreshments.

Those planning to attend the open house should RSVP by April 24 to allow adequate planning for space and complimentary materials. To sign up, call 618/453-3321 or email wed_grad@siu.edu
