Museum seeks names of Girl Scouts, Brownies

by Andrea Hahn

CARBONDALE, Ill. -- For a centenarian, this girl looks pretty good.

The Girl Scouts of the United States of America is 100 years old in 2012.  The University Museum at Southern Illinois University Carbondale joins other campus departments and offices in observing this milestone anniversary.

The museum will feature a small exhibition beginning April 6.

Dona Bachman, museum director, wants to include a list of all members of the SIU Carbondale community who were involved with Girl Scouts or with Brownies.  Help the museum illustrate the impact of this 100-year-old organization.  If you were a member, please send your name to Bachman at dbachman@siu.edu by April 4.

The museum is also interested in obtaining Brownie and Girl Scout uniforms from Southern Illinois natives for its permanent collection.  Contact Bachman if you have an item to donate.
