by Christi Mathis

CARBONDALE, Ill. -- Children of all ages can enjoy a fun, safe evening of Halloween excitement at Southern Illinois University Carbondale’s Safe Halloween fest.

The Inter-Greek Council is hosting the free party from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 31, at the Student Center’s Ballroom D.  Participating youngsters can enjoy games, get yummy candy and, courtesy of University Housing, participate in a variety of seasonal craft activities at the Craft Shop on the lower level.  There will be supervision on the way to the Craft Shop where children will get to paint pumpkins, color and more.

The evening also features a costume contest from 6:30 to 7 p.m. for all of the children who want to take part.  And, Bowling and Billiards offers discount pricing on bowling for those in costume.

There is no need to pre-register and no cost to participate in Safe Halloween.
