Faculty, staff welcome to attend workshop
CARBONDALE, Ill. -- Most of us work with others in our daily work and doing so effectively gets more accomplished.
“It’s a Team Effort: Working with Kindness” is a workshop on Thursday, Oct. 27, from Southern Illinois University Carbondale’s Labor and Employee Relations. Faculty and staff are welcome to attend the presentation from 9:30 to 11 a.m. in the Student Health Center Auditorium.
Carol Fisher, workforce learning and development officer, will present the workshop. She said every day we have numerous one-second opportunities to exhibit a bit more patience with people around us, show a little extra kindness and pay a little more attention. She’ll offer ideas for handling frustration, responding kindly to rude behavior and dealing with emotions that can interfere with our ability to listen and get things done.
