University to offer grant-writing course

by Michelle Winkler

CARBONDALE, Ill. -- Finding the funds for research or programs can often be a challenge, but Southern Illinois University Carbondale is offering help for those seeking such assistance.

The University is having an introductory grant-writing course from 6 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday, Oct. 4 and 5, in Lawson Hall, Room 231.  The mini-course is for those who want to learn more about the process of obtaining grants from government or private organizations.  Participants should be prepared to participate in class discussions and help compose a grant proposal outline.

Jo Anne Nast is the instructor.  She has 25 years of experience in grant writing and has obtained numerous grants from national departments and organizations.  Retired from the University’s Office of Research Development and Administration, Nast continues to assist non-profit organizations with grant development and administration.
