‘One Call-One Voice-One Chance’ workshop set

by Christi Mathis

CARBONDALE, Ill. -- The response callers get when they contact Southern Illinois University Carbondale can have a significant impact, so making a good first impression is important.

“One Call-One Voice-One Chance” is a free workshop on Oct. 6 for all SIUC faculty and staff.   The Labor and Employee Relations event will be 9:30-11:30 a.m. in Rooms 111/112 at the Student Health Center.

Carol Fisher, workforce learning and development officer, will present the workshop illustrating what separates a good experience from a bad one and how important frontline staff is in creating a positive connection with the customer.  She said customer service is only as strong as the people delivering it and everyone at SIUC needs to deliver a consistent message with good telephone manners and efficiency and helpfulness to assure a positive experience for callers.

Participants can register as they walk in or they can RSVP by email to Fisher at cefisher@siu.edu.
