SPC announces early fall movie schedule

CARBONDALE, Ill. -- Popular flicks at discount prices are coming to Southern Illinois University Carbondale this fall courtesy of Student Programming Council Films. 

The early semester movie schedule includes a wide variety of the latest Hollywood releases with wide audience appeal.  Tickets are $2 for SIUC students and children age 10 and younger.  The price for the general public is $3 per person.  Children three and younger get in free but please don’t bring children to R-rated movies.  University students can also pay by Debit Dawg.

All SPC Films are in the Student Center Auditorium.

Here’s the early fall 2011 SPC Films schedule:

            •  “The Hangover Part II” -- Sept. 8-10 at 7 p.m., Sept. 9-10 at 9:30 p.m., 102 minutes, rated R.  This tale stars Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, Zach Galifianakis, Justin Bartha and Mason Lee in a wild pre-wedding romp in Thailand.

            •  “Super 8” -- Sept. 15-17 at 7 p.m., Sept. 16-17 at 9:30 p.m., 112 minutes, rated PG-13.  Steve Spielberg’s tale of a group of friends who see a mysterious train crash in 1979 and then try to figure out weird things happening in their small town stars Elle Fanning, Amanda Michalka and Kyle Chandler.

            •  “Kung Fu Panda 2” -- SPC Films is even offering a Saturday matinee for this Saluki Family Weekend film.  Shows are set for Sept. 22-24 at 7 p.m., Sept. 23-24 at 9:30 p.m. and Sept. 24 at 1 p.m., 91 minutes, rated PG.  Po joins with a new group of kung-fu masters as he battles enemies.
