CARBONDALE, Ill. -- Southern Illinois University Carbondale rolls out the maroon carpet for all area high school sophomores, juniors and seniors with a high school reception that coincides with Saluki Family Weekend.

The event is Sept. 24, with activities from 1:30 to 4 p.m. including campus tours, a college mini fair and the opportunity to meet with representatives from the offices of admissions, financial aid and housing.  That part of the day’s events take place at the Student Recreation Center.

All students and their families are invited to tailgate Saluki style on Saluki Row with the Office of Undergraduate Admissions.  Those who pre-register early may receive wristbands granting free entry to Saluki Stadium as the Salukis take on the Missouri State University Bears.

The University also offers a special invitation to SIUC faculty and staff to attend this event with their families, even if high school is a still a few years in the future.

Register online at www.admissions.siu.edu/reception/ by Sept. 19 -- earlier for better chances to score free game admission.  Each registrant may request up to three wristbands.
